For the Week of 4/12/23: HIM DEI Weekly Wrap Up 15: Dr. Sabat Islambouli: Kurdish Syrian Knockout
As the majority of you are aware, the month of April has been designated Arab American History Month. It is a period of time in which we are urged to celebrate, reflect upon, and honor the contributions of our Arab American friends, achievers, pioneers, and trailblazers from all aspects of life. Dr. Sabat Islambouli (1867– 1941) made history as the first Syrian woman to achieve the Doctor of Medicine, or M.D. degree, and become a licensed physician in the United States of America.
