In this community health DEI Weekly Wrap Up, we will discuss the tragic circumstances and outcomes of now dearly departed, multi-decorated track and field Olympian Tori Bowie. On May 2, 2023 Bowie was found alone, and eight months pregnant upon her passing during a wellness check at her home after not having been seen or heard from in days. After a negative toxicology screening, and a battery of other tests, her death occurred as she was undergoing labor was determined to be of natural causes. However, possible complications from respiratory distress and eclampsia, or hypertension, seizures, and coma associated with pregnancy were also cited.
